Precision Engineered Head Segments

The Extol of Ohio mill department has been shaping insulation for vessel heads for a long time, and they’re still some of the best work that leaves this building. Facility owners prevent excessive heat loss or heat gain with Extol of Ohio’s Precision Engineered Head Segments, designed to provide an accurate, thermally efficient insulation system for vessel and tank heads.

Each segment is precision fabricated to match the exact curvature of the surface. Head segments are numbered and supplied for installation in courses around a common center point, eliminating costly field fabrication from flat or curved block. The result is faster installation, improved fit, and reduced field labor.

Available in configurations including 2:1 elliptical, ASME flanged and dished, conical, and spherical heads.

Extol of Ohio can provide the complete insulation system for the application, including pre-formed curved sidewall segments, weather and vapor-retarder jacketing, mastics, caulking, joint sealers, bands, and springs.

Products are fabricated to applicable ASTM C450 and ASTM C585 tolerances under Extol of Ohio’s ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.
